Have you read our new Mission Statement?

SouthPoint's new Mission Statement:

SouthPoint Financial Credit Union empowers members to achieve their goals and dreams by providing exceptional service and guidance. We aspire to become the primary financial institution for members, contribute to the well-being of our communities and maintain earnings and reserves which promote sound growth and encourage member confidence and loyalty.

What does it all mean to our members?

Our Mission Statement focuses on three key components - members, communities and strength. Many institutions focus on just one of these, we feel our mission should be to enhance all three. How are we doing this? One example is with our new website, you can now use our site to answer many questions that you have called or stopped in to ask in the past. You can apply for loans, get information about your accounts (including your credit card) or find a surcharge free ATM anywhere in the country.

How about our communities? We have two staff currently serving on school boards; we have another on a chamber of commerce board and many more serving on chamber committees. We have blood donors, Relay for Life team captains and many graduates of leadership groups such as Network New Ulm or Bridging Brown County. We are more than just our commitment to serve, we strive to be a valuable business resource, providing consumer and business credit and deposit services to the area and we are a leader in the financing of farm real estate.

We are strength! We have capital well in excess of credit unions and community banks that consider themselves well capitalized. In keeping with cooperative principles, we build capital with retained earnings, not with public stock offerings. We build retained earnings with a focus on providing value to members. We are a leader in our marketplaces in keeping loan interest rates low, while also keeping saving rates high. We can do this because of our low expense structure and the generous use of our products and services by our members.

It's a new Mission Statement, but we are still the same strong institution that has been serving members since 1936. If you are a member of SouthPoint, or are a part of the communities we serve, we hope you see this Mission Statement in action. If you are a friend that hasn't had a chance to see what we are all about, you are welcome call, click or stop in and experience what banking with SouthPoint is all about.
